Founded by Georg Langstrof

Georg Langstrof founds the company robin GmbH in Haan, Germany.

The innovation network ZENIT e.V. awards a prize to robin GmbH.

The company was honored as a project participant and co-coordinator in the development of an artificial cornea. The motto of the competition was “No future viability without willingness to cooperate”.

Patron Prof. Dr. Andreas Pinkwart honored the company in front of around 130 guests in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany.

2010

Fraunhofer prize for artificial corneas

Dr. Joachim Storsberg from the Fraunhofer Institute for Applied Polymer Research in Potsdam (Germany) received the Fraunhofer Prize in 2010. He played a major role in the development of the new corneal prosthesis.

In the project phase, robin has coordinated the work of the various project partners with Coronis GmbH. Robin is also responsible for releasing the prosthesis manufactured by MIRO GmbH and supporting the implantation centers throughout Germany.

2013

Launch of REA

The REA (Robin Endothelium Analyzer) eyebanking tool has been approved for use in eye banks.

2016

Network capability REA

The REA eyebanking tool is now network-compatible. It is now also possible to attach databases.

2020

Team expansion IT and network

Sebastian Klein and Lukas Rottkamp join the Team.

Launch of REA XDL

The eyebanking tool REA XDL is published: Based on the concept of the previous REA, the user interface and the technical substructure have been brought up to the state of the art. Modern deep learning algorithms improve the cell detection, especially when using non-optimal images.
